This workshop provides education and hands-on skills development to optimize the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of dance-related injuries:

  • Education on the health risks and biomechanical factors that contribute to injuries in dancers, including strength and flexibility imbalances, motor control deficits and technique errors
  • Hands-on workshops teaching optimized approaches to history, physical examination, and diagnosis of:
    • Foot and ankle injuries, including Posterior/Anterior impingement, Hallux valgus, Tibial stress fractures, Sesamoid injuries
    • Hip and spine injuries, including Hypermobility and compensatory patterns, Spondylolysis, Hip impingement/labral tears, Discogenic pain/radiculopathy, Gluteal tendinopathy
  • Comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation approaches for dancers
  • Guidance to construct a return-to-dance protocol for specific injuries
