Pilates, well known in the fitness world as a form of exercise to improve body awareness and increase strength and flexibility, is an excellent early intervention for the injured athlete and a highly effective cross-training tool to improve efficiency of movement. This four-hour workshop offers a unique and innovative educational experience. As a participant, you will:

  • Learn the scientific rationale for Pilates-based exercise and active rehabilitation from leading experts in the field
  • Get an introduction to and gain personal experience with equipment-based (Reformer, Tower) and mat-based Pilates programs
  • Learn when and how to use Pilates as a rehabilitation tool for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of common sports injuries, including discogenic pain, spondylolisthesis, shoulder impingement, shoulder and hip labral injuries, and ankle instability
